Arrived: April 2026
Species and Minimum Ethical Enclosure Requirement: Rat: the minimum enclosure size required is 4 cubic feet per rat.
Sex: Male
Age: ~4 months
Location: Peterborough
What is their background story?:
These boys were part of a large litter that joined ACR with their parents at the beginning of April. Their father, Papa John, has taken great care of his sons (Nova, Boston, Domino, Little Caesar, Panago, and DiGiorno), while mom and their 4 daughters joined another foster home. They made a long trek across Ontario to get to us, and have been busy growing and putting on weight since!
What is their favourite activity?:
Panago (siamese coat) and Boston (brown coat) love to snuggle, snack, and run on their big wheel. They're great and grooming themselves and their siblings and love to explore once taken out of their enclosure. They've both got a great sense of balance and love to spend time on shoulders, exploring the world around them.
Note, wheels for male rats should be a minimum of 15"
What is their favourite food?:
These boys love grapes, cheerios, and lettuce!
What is their best trait?:
Since joining their foster home about a month ago, both little guys have really grown out of their shells. They're interested in engaging with people, curious about their surroundings, and enjoy being pet throughout the day. They're both very food motivated and intelligent. With a bit of persuasion, they may even be willing to learn a few tricks!
Final thoughts:
Boston and Panago are two sweet brothers who are becoming more confident each day. They get along great with all their siblings, and would do well being homed as a pair, or potentially joining a bigger mischief! (Ps. Don't mind Panago's red ears- he and his siamese siblings are colour-coded for the time being, as they all look very similar)

What is their background story?: Owner surrender.
What is their favourite activity?: Scaling his cage like a tiny furry rock climber and generally making mayhem wherever he goes.
What is their favourite food?: Anything he can swipe from the snack drawer. This guy has zero shame and zero regrets.
What is their best trait?: Wrath is an absolute personality in rat form. He'll sprint across the cage the second he sees you, launch himself at your hand, and shimmy up your shoulder like he owns the place. He's hilarious, affectionate, and endlessly entertaining, he just prefers to be the star of the show. Wrath isn't interested in sharing the spotlight with other rats; he wants all your love, and honestly, he's worth it.
Final thoughts: Wrath needs a human who's ready to match his energy. If you want a rat who's genuinely interactive, will seek you out for cuddles, and will make you laugh every single day this is your guy. He should be out and active daily with someone who's all in.

What is their favourite activity?: Sleeping. Napping. Dozing. The occasional deep snooze. Sloth takes his name very seriously and is not apologizing for it.
What is their favourite food?: Everything — though ideally served to him while he's lying down.
What is their best trait?: Sloth is the most relaxed rat you will ever meet. He might not even stir when the cage opens because he's just vibing. He loves being held, loves being tucked into a warm pocket, and is perfectly content to nap on you for as long as you'll allow. His foster suspects he may be deaf, which might explain the legendary chill, but either way he is an absolute gem of a companion for anyone who wants a snuggly, low-drama little buddy.
Final thoughts: If your ideal rat is less "chaotic gremlin" and more "tiny sleeping angel who fits in your hoodie pocket," Sloth is your guy.

What is their favourite activity?: Snacks. Acquiring snacks. Surveilling the other rats' snacks. Relocating snacks to an undisclosed location. Envy has a system and it is working perfectly.
What is their favourite food?: All of it. Every single bit of it. Especially yours.
What is their best trait?: Envy is a bold, friendly, enthusiastic little rat who shoots out of the cage the second the door opens, partly because he wants to see you, and partly because he's already clocked where you keep the food. Hilarious to watch, genuinely sweet, and full of personality. His foster thinks he may have been misnamed since Glutton was already taken, but the spirit is very much there.
Final thoughts: For all his snack scheming, Envy is a people-loving rat who needs friends to live with. He'll keep you laughing and your treat supply on its toes.
