Sex: Male
Age: 10 months old (born on March 28, 2025)
Location: Oakville
What is their background story?:
These two boys were an owner surrender due to not being able to handle them easily. They came to us from Montreal just before the end of the year, and have slowly been settling in. We suspect both boys to be blind, and are easily startled because of this. Zach is nervous on his own, and is much braver when Bryce is with him. Bryce is defensive of his cage, and does not do well with hands. He is improving! He is very clear with his body language and needs someone willing to work with him on this.
Both boys love attention and ask for it every day, but don't always want it in the form of being pet or touched by hands. They are very happy to be in a space with you, lie down next to you, and hop up in your lap and be on your shoulders.
Bryce can be sensitive and flipflop on how close he wants you to him. He needs someone to meet him where he is and respect his space and boundaries. Bryce has been biting as his first means of communication to maintain his space. As he has settled in, he has been better, but can bite down hard when he is upset. He needs a lot of patience. He might cheekily slide up next to you to lie down and cuddle, but don't think about petting him. He makes the boundaries. Zach is just happy to be here.
What is their favourite activity?:
The boys love to chew wooden blocks and toys. They use all their toys, rearrange their house, and chew on everything they can. They will chew any wires if given the chance! They might also consider chewing any wooden furniture.
What is their favourite food?:
These boys love all the food they are offered. They enthusiastically take everything and are very happy. Hand feeding them is an acceptable use of hands to them.
What is their best trait?:
Despite their nerves and issues with hands, the boys are really brave and interested in people. They don't hide in their cage, they come running when they hear voices. They love to come out and have free run time. Zach is also now accepting pets even if he's a bit nervous still!
Final thoughts:
Zach and Bryce need a home that has experience reading Rat body-language right now. Bryce would not be good in a home with children as he has bitten a few times.

Species and Minimum Ethical Enclosure Requirement: Rat: the minimum enclosure size required is 4 cubic feet per rat.
Sex: Male
Age: 12 to 16 months
Location: Vaughan
What is their background story?:
Remy came to us as a rescued reptile feeder. He was in a tank with several other rats that were all younger than him and picking on him. It is possible that Remy was previously a pet and surrendered only to end up being labeled a "feeder rat" as he is a Dumbo, and Dumbo rats are rarely not often bought or this reason.
We are not sure his exact age, but we do believe that he is most likely a middle aged to young senior.
Remy needed to be separated from the others he was rescued with because he was being picked on and bullied. An attempt was made to bond him to another solo boy, however he became very stressed and introverted. For this reason, we believe Remy would do best as a solo boy.
What is their favourite activity?:
Remy absolutely loves sleeping in his Sputnik in the day, and exploring his many tunnels and baskets after a nice nap. He enjoys doing laps around his cage while he is out and will often bring his snacks behind it to have a peaceful meal. He can be shy at first, but once he feel comfortable with you, he has no problems showing you his love of exploring.
What is their favourite food?:
Remy loves his Gerber Puff Treats. His favourite flavours are sweet potato and peach. He also enjoys sweet peppers, and we will try pea fishing very soon!
What is their best trait?:
Remy is one of the sweetest boys I have met. He has really come out of his shell since becoming solo and being able to go at his own pace. Not to say he is slow though! He gets his zoomies like all other ratties. He loves to go in sleeves and explore to see where they lead!
Final thoughts:
Remy is just finishing a round of medication for a possible Upper Respiratory infection, which is common for rats. After he finishes, he will be ready to find his forever bachelor pad!
