What is their background story?
Caramel’s story is one of resilience. He was dropped off at a high-kill shelter in Quebec, neglected and overlooked, with a respiratory wheeze and itchy skin from poor care. Scheduled for euthanasia, he was rescued just in time and brought to Ontario. The moment he arrived in foster care, he perked up, cleaned himself, and showed everyone he was ready for a second chance. Today, Caramel is thriving and waiting for the loving home he truly deserves.
What is their favourite activity?
Caramel loves exploring the different levels of his Critter Nation cage, especially at night when he’s busy building cozy nests and rearranging his toys. He’s also learned that when his foster dad comes home, everyone gets a treat, so Caramel proudly waits at the front of his cage for his snack! When his foster mom comes by, he enjoys climbing out for a better view and a little adventure around the cage.
What is their favourite food?
Caramel is a true foodie and he enjoys pretty much everything! Treats, snacks, dinner… if it’s food, he’s happy.
What is their best trait?
Caramel has one of the best personalities at the rescue. He’s sweet, gentle, and surprisingly chatty when he’s excited. He loves company, is learning that pets and scritches are wonderful, and often does a happy dash to his water bottle for celebratory sips.
Final thoughts:
Caramel may still be a bit shy with new people, but he’s blossoming every day and showing just how much love he has to give. Considering the neglect he faced in his past, he’s incredibly trusting and hopeful. With patience, kindness, and a forever home that spoils him, Caramel will continue to bloom into the affectionate, joyful companion he was always meant to be.
