What is their background story?:
Zoe, 4 of her pups and the father of the pups was surrendered to ACR by their previous owners. The owner was unaware that they adopted a female and male which ended up with a pregnancy. Due to changes in the owners life they could not care for Zoe, her pups and dad.
Zoe is now ready to find her forever home. She is a sweet girl and doesn’t mind being handled.
What is their favourite activity?:
Zoe has lots of energy and loves zooming around in the playpen, running on the wheel. She also loves hiding in all the hides that is in the playpen and of course free roam time.
What is their favourite food?:
Zoe pretty much will eat everything you give her. She gets fresh or cooked veggies every night and her little bowl is usually empty.
What is their best trait?:
Zoe is a very sweet girl. She has beautiful markings and her coat is very soft and plush. Her fosters just love how she will sprint around from hide to hide to the wheel go for a short run, then back off zoom around some more etc.
Final thoughts:
Zoe would do well with a family with kids or just adults. She can be wiggle in your hands and maybe hard to handle with small kids.

He came into ACR care after being adopted alongside another hamster who was mistakenly thought to be the same sex. As a result, they had an unexpected litter of six babies. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the owner was not able to care for the hamster family and surrendered them to the rescue. He’s now looking for a loving forever home where he can thrive on his own.

He’s a busy little guy who lives for food! He loves stuffing his cheeks full of snacks and enthusiastically tearing into flax sprays like it’s his full-time job. Watching him destroy his sprays with determination is endlessly entertaining.
What is their favourite food?:
Fresh veggies are his absolute favourite! He gets especially excited for a bit of cucumber in his dish.
What is their best trait?:
He’s just so silly! Whether he’s running/digging around like he’s on a mission or dramatically stuffing food into his cheeks, he always finds a way to make you laugh. His playful, goofy energy brings so much joy to anyone watching him.

Sex: Male
Age: 10 weeks
Location: Burlington
What is their background story?:
Velcro is one of the baby boys from Zoe & Papa Smurf's unexpected litter. Due to their personal situation, the humans reached out to ACR for help.
What is their favourite activity?:
Velcro's favourite activity is diving below his bedding and burrowing. He's a timid little man and prefers being under cover. When he is out of his enclosure, he loves being in his snuggle sack and roaming about over people looking for sweater pockets or other hidey holes. At this point, he is not a fan of a playpen - too much open space. When startled he will often roll on his back and scream, swatting at the offending object (hand).
What is their favourite food?:
Velcro's main diet is Mazuri Rat & Mouse blocks and Higgins Sunburst mix. He loves his veggies and we haven't found anything he doesn't like! Like most hamsters, he is scatter fed for enrichment and loves "hunting" his food.
What is their best trait?:
Although Velcro is a timid boy, there is some curiosity. I expect with the right people he will come out of his shell and blossom. He has some of the cutest dwarf hamster behaviours! He's a beautiful boy who deserves to be with a patient family who can understand his needs.
Final thoughts:
Given Velcro's hesitancy being out of his enclosure and in open spaces, we do not recommend he lives with a family with small children or other animals near his enclosure.
